Position Opening at Seattle Children’s Hospital (7/22)
Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH) is offering a 1.0 FTE Pediatric / Rehabilitation Psychologist position in the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology. The position will focus on providing evidenced-based outpatient psychological assessment and intervention services to pediatric patients and their families who are adjusting to changes in function related to an acute or chronic illness or injury. The position will also provide intermittent coverage for patients hospitalized on the SCH inpatient rehabilitation unit, a 12-bed CARF-accredited unit serving a diverse patient population.
Populations served include those with acquired brain injury (concussion, moderate-severe traumatic brain injury, anoxic brain injury, encephalitis), spinal cord injury/disease, cerebral palsy, neuromuscular disorders, functional neurologic disorders, and a variety of other acute or chronic medical conditions. Primary responsibilities include actively engaging and consulting with a multidisciplinary team to support patient care, individual and family psychotherapy, psychoeducation, development of behavior management plans, and coordination with school personnel and community providers.
Opportunities exist within the hospital to participate in research, hospital-wide rounds and training opportunities, outreach and educational initiatives, teaching of psychology and medical trainees, and quality improvement projects within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.
